Today I went to the New London Public Library for the last time. As I stepped through the iron doors that had once made me uncomfortable, I felt at home in the library that I had been visiting for so long. As I climbed up the stairs I looked at the people leaning casually against the walls. I went to the same table I had always been sitting at and set up my toys. As I waited for the kids to come through the door I took pictures so I could present this experience so that people could see it the way I did. When kids came through most of which were very young I greeted there parents. Some of them just said no thank you when I asked if there son or daughter wanted to play. I used to think they were being rude but now I know they were just protecting their loved ones. I only got one kid to come over and investigate but his mother then had to shuffle him out the door to leave. I have had a wonderful experience.
