(TS)To Kill a Mockingbird is all about circles and, some of them are very noticeable and some make you uproot the plant structure of the story itself and look at every little root that connects the story together. (SD) One of leaves of the story that constantly comes back is the mysterious character of Boo Radley. (CM) Boo, who is a subject of fascination for Jem, Dill, and Scout, is mentioned a vast amount of times in the story’s plot. (CM) At the time of the trial the mentioning of Boo died down faster than an animal in a wood logged rainforest, but now he made his appearance and Scout got emotional as she said “Hey Boo.” With tears make tiny rivers down her bruised but smooth face. (SD) When Jem was thirteen he broke his elbow but “He couldn’t have cared less, so long as he could pass and punt” which is referring to football. (CM) The first and second sentence in To Kill a Mockingbird, out of 376 pages were some of the most important things to remember for they talked about how Jem likes football.(CM) This is constantly dragged back into the story as the kids get older.(SD)

Assessment visit three
Today I went to the New London Library. Today my mom just dropped me there with my belongings and I walked into the building through a huge black rusted door that felt like it was a hundred pounds. I said hello to Mrs. Taylor and set up my puzzles. Today, according to my calendar of events, was puzzle day so I brought a Unicorn puzzle, my sister’s not mine. Soon a little girl of about two came with here mother and I gave them the puzzle to play with. Immediately she got bored so I gave her Widgets which in the process of playing with she lost two pieces. As they were playing I went over to where a boy was playing checkers with an older boy of 13. After that we talked together until they both left. Then I heard labored breathing and thumping and the same loud kid came into the room. His mom and sister came in and the mom immediately started to complain. I went back to helping the mom and her two year old. The other 13 year old was carrying a stack of books when the mom of the loud kid came in and asked if she could use his phone to call someone. After we finished the puzzled I packed up and my mom arrived to pick me up

Assessment 2

Today I went to the library for my second visit and again it looked quiet. But this time almost no one came into the kids section. It was eerily quiet for the first minutes until I heard the huffing and puffing of a kid who doesn’t run enough. A kid then came gasping into the room and watched me build a widget piece. The kid was wearing a green t-shirt that was way to big for him. He was about to sit down when his older sister grabbed him by the collar and walked away with him. I waited for a while but the kids were only there and they were on the computer or playing checkers. I eventually just helped them play checkers then I left.

Assessment

I made my first Assessment visit today and at first it was looking pretty grim. There were no kids around to play with. This did not deter me as I set up shop on a table armed with Chutes and Ladders and Widgets. After introducing myself to Ms. Sue, a lady who had dark sparkling hair and a permanent smile, I sat down at the table and waited. After a few minutes of sculpting by myself with the Widgets a small girl came walking in. The girl, who could not have been more then six, walked nervously to my table. I introduced myself to her and helped her into her chair. Immediately she started to smile with baby teeth that sparkled in the light. She then said her name was Isabella and we started to make sculptures. Her dark hair turned and flopped as she twisted he head as she recited a vivid tale of how she never had anyone to play with at her house and she loved to play Chutes and Ladders. After she made a magnificent sculpture I was so mad I couldn’t take it’s picture for my phone had died. We then together put the pieces back in the box and proceeded to play Chutes and Ladders in which she got every ladder until a young woman came. As it turned out this was her sister and shyly my little friend waved goodbye and skipped out hair creating a saucer around her head. Later a family came and a boy with wrap around glasses came he played, but then quickly left. Another two boys and their sister came and I watched them play with chess pieces as their two year old played with the Widgets. After the toddler was carried away screaming I decided to leave but first I helped clean a fish tank. This is going to be a fun volunteer job.

A Silent Hero
An Essay about an Unknown Hero
Jordan Crawford
Pine Point School
English A
January 5, 2011-01-05
There are heroes every in this world, but many of them you would never think of or you take for granted. This essay summarizes some of he heroes I know. These two people are Atticus, the noble father from To Kill a Mockingbird, and my mom who helps me accomplish things I would usually have trouble with.  To be a hero you don't need a cape or super powers. You just need to be willing to help someone up if they fall.

(TS) “It was times like these I thought my father, who hates guns and had never been to any wars, was the bravest man that ever lived”. (SD) This astounding sentence from To Kill a Mockingbird captures the captivated Scout as she admires her father’s heroic ways.(CM) Scout and Jem often look up to the Atticus, a quiet man that has a deep and abiding passion for books, as he stands for things a ordinary man would not do.(CM) Scout was taught by her father to read, a thing that she adores so much that now she says “ Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing” which show how much she wants to be like him, to have a passion for books as well. (SD) Over the course of To Kill a Mockingbird it is clear Scout has a potty mouth, and Jem might be a weed whacker. (CM)Atticus has shown Scout and Jem that respect pays off in the long run. (CM)When Bob Ewell walked up to Atticus spat in his face and swore at him  Atticus just stared vaguely at him Bob Ewell then asked if he was to afraid to fight and Atticus answered “No just to old” an answer that could strike annoyance or awe in anyone. (SD) One of the themes in this book is maturing, and as Jem matures he becomes more and more like Atticus.(CM) To Jem his dad is a silent champion not a bookworm lawyer.(CM) Jem goes out of his way to impress his dad so he will “ ruffle Jem’s hair. His one sign of affection”.(CS) In the whole Atticus is a silent hero, not like one from a comic book, but the one we need, a person to look up to.
(TS)My mom, a wonderful woman who loves to help people, is a silent hero. (SD)My mom constantly and flawlessly helps me, and my sister’s handle our busy schedules which often takes up a lot of time and she does this heroically. (CM) My sister, Erica, has piano, chorus, dance, and swimming all in one week, that she drives her to all of them. (CM)My schedule, thankfully, is not nearly as busy but mainly is just that my days are so long from homework and sport practices, which she helps me out with. (SD) She also reserves time to hang out with us. (CM)I will frequently watch a movie with her and my dad.(CM) While with my sister she watches So you think you can dance?, or sleds outside with us.(SD) The most fascinating thing that my mom does that makes her a great idol is how she takes care of herself. (CM) She works out almost every night on the treadmill or on the exercise bike to keep in shape.(CM) A majority of the school years Friday’s she spend watching Oprah or some other show.(CS) In the whole my mom could be compared to a pizza because she has a slice of her for our whole family especially herself.
In the whole my mom and Atticus have a lot in common. They both help people up when they need a hand. Even though they don't have billions of dollars they still help people however they can. To me this is the greatest case of heroism. To help someone start their life like how my mom is helping me with life.

I think I need to work on reading my work over carefully and more than once
